You read that correctly. The Encore Mini is the full Windows 8.1 experience in a tablet with a 7-inch screen, and it costs just $120. Once it's on store shelves, you might even be able to find it for lower.
Toshiba Encore Mini Is a 7-inch Windows 8.1 Tablet That's Just $120:
Powered by an Intel Atom processor, the Encore Mini isn't the most advanced machine. It has a 1,024 x 600 display — so this isn't even full HD — but it does have 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0.
The Encore Mini comes with 16GB of internal storage, a microUSB port and a microSD card slot, which can augment the storage by up to 128GB with a SDXC card.
Still, what we can't get past is the price. $120 for a full Windows 8.1 machine is a steal, especially for users who want an inexpensive way to do Office 365 on the go. The Encore Mini even comes with a full year of access to Office 365 Personal ($6.99 a month). Which basically means that you're spending as much on a full computer and tablet as you would on an Office 365 subscription. Welcome to the future.
