Sadly, for at least those thousands that signed the online petition, it has been reported that Justin Bieber will be staying put for now and will not be getting sent packing back to Canada anytime soon. In case you haven’t seen the news or the tabloids and are wondering why many wanted the singer deported, he has been in the news for almost everything you can imagine, including allegedly egging his neighbor’s house and causing thousands of dollars worth of damages.
Justin Bieber Won’t Be Deported From U.S. Says White House |
Instead of actually making any comments about Justin Bieber himself, the spokesperson for the White House decided to take up the matter of immigration reform, saying:
“So we’ll leave it to others to comment on Mr. Bieber’s case, but we’re glad you care about immigration issues. Because our current system is broken. Too many employers game the system by hiring undocumented workers, and 11 million people are living in the shadows.”
So, now you know – it’s not all that easy to get someone deported even if you get enough signatures on a petition and send it on to the White House; they can still say no. Or, maybe President Obama (or his daughters) are just fans of Bieber.
