You might call me picky, but iTunes has a much better music catalog than Google does. While many artists and songs overlap between the two, Google is missing some popular musical acts, such as The Beatles and Metallica. (You can purchase the solo material from the members of The Beatles, though). And, while you can’t play iTunes music on an Android phone, you can download the Google Play music app on the iPhone. I’m not the only person who has noticed this problem and it has led to some serious beginning-stages talks about the possibility of Apple allowing iTunes to be able to be downloaded on an Android phone.
Is iTunes Coming To Android? |
Is There AnDroid In The Future?
Apparently, giving access to iTunes on Android phones and tablets isn’t as easy as it sounds. Obviously, they would still be powered by the Android OS and not by Apple’s – the only Apple software would be the iTunes catalog and possibly a music player. (It’s unknown at this stage if the songs would be able to play through Android’s native music player).
This could be a long time coming (if ever) due to the fact that Apple would have to work some magic with many record labels.
What do you think? Would this be a good idea?
